Supporting the development of my creative career
23rd Jul 2009 A passion and truth by Glenn
Having previously completed a number of work placements at other agencies my expectations for my time at WAA could be described of as average. I imagined the usual approach to work placement candidates, a few old briefs and the promise of as much help as I needed..
However, from the moment I began, every member of staff I worked with was helpful and encouraging. Even though I spent my time over a quieter period for the agency the design team did their best to help teach me skills that were relevant to developing a career in the creative industry.
It was very easy to feel relaxed with such a supportive environment, which I feel inspires creativity, and in my second week i settled in to partake on a live brief. This part of the placement was the most relevent experience I had. The opportunity to see how a new brief is received and delivered to the creative team and then experience the ideas generation stage and reporting back to the account manager for their feedback was invaluable.
It would be a great advantage for all aspiring creatives to have this kind of support and knowledge that was given to me by the team at WAA.

Glenn won his placement with us through the B-Hive programme.
